Princeton Reverb AA1164 Blackface Mod Kit

Converting your silverface Princeton Reverb to AA1164 blackface specs is much easier than most blackface conversions. Only a few things changed circuit-wise from the blackface to silverface models. The changes that did happen were subtle, but noticeable.

Converting your silverface Princeton Reverb to AA1164 blackface specs will give you a warmer, smoother, more touch-sensitive amp. It will sound a little “browner” and break up a little earlier. It also converts the reverb circuit to blackface specs which is much more stable than the silverface reverb circuit.

This kit includes all of the electrical components, diagrams & written directions you need to perform a full blackface conversion on your silverface Fender amplifier.
